Energising Woman To Advance The Energy Transition

 

Global Women’s Empowerment Training Program

In order to increase the female impacts in driving energy transition, By commission of the German Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy (BMWI),the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) has in collaboration with the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET),  under bilateral Energy partnerships between Germany and countries around the world, including China,Sino-German Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership,Launched the Mentor programme: Energising women to advance the energy transition on 8th March ,Female practitioners in the field of energy transition were invited to participate in this project around the world

 

During the election process, GWNET received more than 260 applications from women working in 12 countries to promote the sustainable energy transition.Eleven female experts from government departments, research institutions and energy companies in China were selected by GWNET and the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy.

 Meeting start

On the afternoon of June 7th, GIZ, the Sino-German Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership and GWNET jointly hosted the online launch seminar of the training program in China, marking the official launch of the “Global Women Empowerment Training Program”.

As the official organization and coordinating insititution of this training program in China, GIZ Sino-German Energy and Energy Efficiency Partners will continue to follow up and support the implementation of the training program,together with GWNET and experts participating in the training, we will work together to empower women in the energy field and “inspire women to drive energy transition”!

“Women Empowerment Green Energy” Initiative

The “Energising women to advance the energy transition” Global Women Empowering Training Program is also a follow-up to the “Women Empowering Green Energy” initiative launched by the China-Germany Energy and Efficiency Partnership in December last year.The China-Germany Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership is committed to creating a diverse, inclusive and equitable environment for participation in the energy sector, while conducting bilateral governmental dialogues on renewable energy and energy efficiency to promote the transition of the energy system to a cleaner, more efficient, safer and more sustainable environment.Through the Women in Green Energy Initiative, we hope to create a platform for women working in the energy sector to discuss the challenges women face in the industry, enhance capacity building and leadership, inspire more women to commit to the energy transition in the future, and mobilize women’s power to combat global climate change.

The “Women Empowerment Green Energy” initiative is organized by the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ), the Sino-German Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership Joint Green Innovation and Development Center (IGDP), the Global Women’s Energy Transition Network (GWNET), the Women in New Energy Asia Alliance (WIRA), the Green and Low Carbon Development Think Ttank Partnership, and the Women in Green Network(Hydrogen Network) and other organizations and online platforms dedicated to promoting the empowerment of women in energy.
